Fairford lies on the River Coln at the foot of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire near the boundary with Wiltshire. From the Bull’s front door, many fine opportunities for a stroll. Fairford’s famous medieval ‘wool’ church of St Mary’s, boasting the finest, complete set of 28 medieval stained glass windows in England is a minute’s walk away. Alternatively, take a longer walk along the River Coln by the Old Mill and around the many lakes in the Eastern Cotswold Water Park.

Fairford hosts a traditional market every Wednesday, a continental market twice a year and a festive market for Christmas on the first Friday of December. Carrying on an ancient tradition, the Fairford Town Crier “cries” in the Market Place on the 1st Wednesday of every month.

Trout and grayling fishing on The Bull’s private 1.25mile stretch of the River Coln is available year round. Please contact The Bull for more information.

Fairford is about 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Cirencester, 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Lechlade and 9 miles (14 km) north of Swindon. RAF Fairford hosts the world’s largest military air show – the Royal International Air Tattoo.
